In three big matches last week, the aforementioned McKinney North beat Lucas Lovejoy while fourth ranked Leander Rouse, the pre-season number two team in the state poll, returned to that spot by beating previously number three Liberty hill. Mission Sharyland is Queen of the win streaks with 28 while Justin northwest has 19 in a row.
Forney had the third loss of minor surprise as Midlothian beat Forney who dropped to with their only previously losses to Frisco memorial in a tournament and to powerful 6A Plano West.
Class 6A win steaks are an interesting study due to fierce tournament coemptions. Several of the longest win steaks followed losses in Volleypalooza while the tow longest streaks, Plano West 21 and Arlington martin 20 were teams that did not face the two headed juggernauts of independent select team Cornerstone Christian or TAPPS uber power Prestonwood Christian who went one-two in that event.
Then there is quite a collection of teams with ten straight wins including red hot and top ranked Dallas Highland Park, traditional powers Austin Lake Travis and The Woodlands and two tmeas who got hot going into district: Tomball and Round Rock Westwood. Vista Ridge swept McNeil Friday night , , to set the stage for a huge week as the third place Rangers are at second place Round Rock Tuesday night then host first place Westwood Friday night.
Jordan Zink slammed five first set kills as the Rangers warmed up for Homecoming night by taking staging a scoring run after a lead to win the first set.
Vista Ridge won the second set on a run, finishing the set on a kill by Madison Louis who went to the service line with an ace for set point as Riley Garis led the offense with four kills.
McNeil played a more balanced defense and reduced unforced errors in the third set as the Mavericks led behind timely kills by as Cat Brezina, Harshi Yalamanchili, and Kalli Wootton forcing a Vista Ridge timeout. On the night, Mican led the Rangers with nine kills while Flores and Caton Firkins has seven kills each. Garis closed with six kills. Clinton also had 35 assists and 11 digs while Houston had five kills and Kelly Swyers had nine kills, Ava Bruno added six kills. Gianna Deelena had 21 digs in the win. Emma Patmon slammed 16 kills for Cedar Ridge. Vandegrift swept last place manor to round out district action. Mackenzie Plante slammed 14 kills with 17 digs while Henley Anderson added nine kills and 19 digs for the state ranked Tigers.
When asked about the Kane Cup standings, Michael, who started his coaching career at St. Natalie Arnold added eight kills for the Tigers while Ashley Euston had five blocks. Taylor Tjelmeland had 21 digs while Dripping Springs setters combined for 38 assists with Sydney Lund collecting 20 assists and Presley Alford adding 18 assists.
Austin swept Bowie , , as Riley Malloy ripped 13 kills with 13 digs as Chloe Kelly added ten kills and Harper Luthy added seven kills for the maroons who got 15 assists by Jordan Hodges and 11 from Campbell Bartley. Aleida Moreno had a team leading 16 digs. Westlake swept Del Valle , , as Sophia Luo 13 kills with two blocks and Claire Wernli added 11 kills while Caitlin Hefner had two blocks. Cameron Shelly spread the ball for 44 assists and added two aces while libero Reese Emerick finished with 19 digs three aces and Mallory Weyand had 12 digs.
Anderson beat Akins , , as setter Maddie Steusser collected her assist. High flying outside hitter Jazmine Gaston had 15 kills and served three 3 aces while both Parker Duncan and Ashlynn Axtell had nine digs each.
Caylee Mejia had 15 kills, nine digs and an ace while Takyla Brown collected 39 assists and an ace as Weiss swept Temple , , Marissa Cazares notched three blocks at the net in the win. McCallum improved to in district play with a decisive win over Northeast Early college , , Hendrickson beat Elgin Morgan Warren checked in with 33 assists as Kamea Uitenham had eight kills and Hannah Hicks seven kills with three aces for the Hawks.
Jordan Flores had 16 digs with three aces while Rhyan Wheeler added eight digs. Georgetown retained first place by beating Bastrop , , Addison Gaido led Georgetown offensively while Laicey Sullivent had ten kills and 14 digs for Bastrop and Fallon Hall notched 25 assists and served two aces for the Bears. Cedar Creek got a huge district victory as the Eagles swept Pflugerville , , behind ten kills from Mackenzie Collins and five each from Keyaira Limuel and Gracyn Hentschel.
Madden Denton had 17 digs and five kills while Valerie Castillo notched eight more digs for the victorious Eagles. East View went four sets to defeat Connally , , , Rouse defeated Lehman , , as Raiders coach Jackob Thompson substituted freely with nine different Raiders getting a kill and all 11 Rouse players getting at least one dig.
Clair added seven kills. Key and setter Ella owns both served three aces while Owens added 28 assists. Liberty Hill beat Lockhart , , as Kealy Dirner had ten kills, two aces and six digs while Carson Glenn had 16 assists.
Hays moved into sole possession of third place with an impressive sweep of Cedar Park , , Georgie Lincoln had 15 assists nd Neela Castillo 12 in the win while Bella Briceno notched 20 digs and Lusia Langi had nine blocks at the net.
Giddings beat Caldwell , , , , while La Grange crushed Manor New Tech , , and Taylor defeated Smithville in four sets. The Giddings lady Buff have won 11 straight matches and had an amazing week beating co-leaders LaGrange , , , on Tuesday and Caldwell , , , , Friday night to improve to and a perfect in district play after a start as the lady buff won 17 of their next 21 matches.
In the win over LaGrange, Faith Zoch had 13 kills and 15 assists with 20 digs. Avery Hamlin led the Cavaliers with 15 kills while Logan Brannan added 12 kills and Carrington Jamies collected ten kills with two blocks. Emily Contreras served a pair of aces. Maroons outside hitter Riley Malloy chalked up 16 kills while hitting. Westlake defeated Bowie , , as Cam Shelly had 27 assists with two aces and 19 digs while both Sophia Luo and Caroline Pence had ten kills each.
Pence added three aces Reese Emerick had 18 digs while Luo had three blocks and Evie Naumann added two blocks. Anderson beat McCallum in a non-district match , , , Westwood beat Stony Point in , , , , as Julia Hopkins pounded 21 kills while libero Lola Fernandez had 33 digs with three service aces and Rachel Cai notched 36 assists in the see-saw match.
Kylee Bagley had nine kills and 13 assists for the Tigers while younger sister Aubree Bagley had ten assists. Carries Weston had ten kills and freshman Taliah Angwekwe had nine kills with two blocks. Libero Allie Beal had 26 digs and three aces. Vista Ridge swept Manor , , behind 14 kills by Emma Flores. Setter Ryleigh Garis had 26 assists, ten digs and two aces while Madison Louis added three aces.
Round Rock sept McNeil , , Emily stock had 17 assists and ten digs while riley Cox had 12 digs in the loss. Giovanna Mason slammed 12 kills and Kealy Dirner notched 11 kills as Liberty Hill swept visiting Hays , , Morgan Poulain added three blocks and five kills for Liberty Hill while Carson Glenn had 15 assists and Keegan Walton finished with 17 digs.
Luisa Langi led the Hawks with nine kills and four blocks while Madi Disu served two aces and had eight kills. Rouse swept Glenn , , as Kayla Lopez had 13 kills with eight digs while Jadyn Wilgus and Naara Tanco had nine kills each for the Raiders with Wilgus getting three blocks and Tanco adding two service aces.
Karley Black added a pair of aces and 12 digs while Savannah Skopal had three aces to go with her 42 assists. Jaylene Garcia led the Grizzlies with ten digs while setter Abbie Owens had 13 assists and Ianna Mack added eight assists. Addison Gaido smacked 14 kills and added four blocks while Izzy Casanova and Kate Stengel managed 12 assists each as Georgetown beat East View , , Alexis Flora had 25 digs in the victory.
Hannah Hicks had eight kills Hendrickson beat Connally , , Sara Randall slammed 20 kills while Caylee Mejia added 15 kills and 14 digs as Weiss swept past Harker Heights , , Takyla Brown had 21 assists, nine digs and served two aces while Ashley go had 14 digs for the Wolfpack.
The Liberal Arts and Sciences Academy Raptors swept Eastside Early College , , while Smithville swept , , while Taylor lost to Caldwell in four sets: , , , Geronimo Navarro beat Wimberley , , , , despite 19 kills by Maddy Harris who also served two aces. Jesse Weeks had 35 assists and Rhagen Masur finished with 33 digs. In other action, Holliday swept Jacksboro while Canton improved to overall going this week and in district defeating Van and Brownsboro.
Byron Nelson wept V. Eaton , , and Gunter beat Bells , , as Rayanna Mauldin led with 13 kills, 7 digs while Chloe Johnson had 11 kills, 4 digs Gunter beat two time defending state champion bushland in tournament play and since that loss, the Falcons have won 54 of 58 sets and 18 straight matches.
Cardinals standout Juli Bryant was named player of the game by Rio Sports Live as her big kills and serves helped the Lady Cardinals wrap up the victory on Parents Night. Harlingen has won 14 straights. In Central Texas, New Braunfels Canyon, who lost in the state semifinals last year and up to third in the latest poll after beating San Antonio Wagner , , Traditional power Crawford evened their season record at after beating top ranked Valley Mills in district play while Brooklyn Jaeger slammed 18 kills as Class 1A defending state champion and top ranked Fayetteville sept Waelder 3, 7, Class 3A.
